Real-Life MBA" by Jack Welch is a guidebook that provides practical insights into the business world. For those who dont know Jack Welch was CEO of General Electric and one of the most famous and successful entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

The book is divided into two parts. Part one focuses on the "hard" skills that are necessary for business success, such as strategy development, and financial management. Part two of the book focuses on "soft" skills such as communication, and teamwork.

Overall, "The Real-Life MBA" provides a comprehensive overview of the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the business world. Welch's straightforward writing style and use of real-world examples make the book an engaging and informative read for anyone interested in business and leadership.

"Everything is a negotiation" is the message with which the book has started and is completed. I always love teachers who give practical knowledge instead of just saying what's only written in the book and for that reason, this has been one of my favorite books for the year.

Christopher Voss is a former FBI hostage negotiator and the CEO of The Black Swan Group Ltd. In the book, he shares all the negotiations technique which he has used to save hostages from terrorists. The incidence which he described were thrilling as well as full of wisdom.

  • Negotiating is not about winning or losing, it's about reaching a mutually beneficial agreement.

  • Emotions play a critical role in negotiations, and acknowledging and understanding the other party's emotions is key to building rapport and reaching an agreement.

  • It's important to be assertive in negotiations without being aggressive. A calm, confident demeanor can help build trust and lead to a more productive negotiation.


6) ) Long walk to freedom SUMMARY

The book starts with the introduction of Mandela and the Xhosa a famous tribe to whom he belonged. His father die in his early childhood and he was taken care of by the regent ( the head of the tribe). Things were going smoothly then while he began pursuing B.A. One day suddenly the regent called him and his son and informed them they will be married soon. Both opposed the idea and seeing no other option ran from their hometown to Johannesburg, his real struggle began after that, he pursued his LLB and joined a law firm as well as ANC ( The African National Congress) and got into politics.

  • Mandela was imprisoned in 1962 for his activism and spent 27 years in prison, during which time he became a symbol of the anti-apartheid movement.

7) Tuesday with Morris SUMMARY

This is a story of a professor ( Morrie)& one of his beloved students Mitch. Morrie was in his 70s when he was diagnosed with fatal cancer and was informed that his survival is now for only a few months. This revelation didn't make him sad but energized him to live his last days with unconditional happiness, he began educating people about their limited time and advise them not to waste it.

During this time Mitch who had lost all contact with his teacher saw him in one of the random shows and was stunned. Soon he figured out more about his living conditions and began visiting him frequently. The visit was every Tuesday which coincidence with their college lectures which also used to be every Tuesday,16 years back.

  • After learning of Morrie's terminal illness, Albom reconnected with his former professor and began visiting him on Tuesdays to discuss life, love, and death.

The book is written by the daughter of Bruce Lee. The title of the book is provoked by the above quotation of him, the purpose of writing is to enlighten people about the methods & philosophy of Bruce Lee.

From an early age, he believed in the significance of water, not just as a form of survival but as a source of power. Water can wander from the narrowest path and the same water can engulf a huge building. If one tries to attain success one must be like water, adaptable yet powerful.

Here are some key points from the book "Be Water, My Friend":

  • Water is fluid and adaptable, able to flow and take on any shape or form.

  • Bruce Lee applied this idea of fluidity to his martial arts philosophy, emphasizing the importance of being flexible and adapting to any situation.

9) The Almanack of Naval Ravikant SUMMARY

The book is jotted down by Eric Jorgenson in which he interviews Naval (a successful entrepreneur)about his way of life and his definition of success & happiness. Naval tells him about his life story & and how he sees things. This part was very inspiring for me the thoughts he shared were unique & realistic. Especially the part about building wealth was my favorite.

Here are some key points from "The Almanack of Naval Ravikant":

  • Ravikant emphasizes the importance of seeking wealth and success on your own terms, rather than conforming to societal norms or expectations.

  • He encourages individuals to focus on creating value and pursuing their passions, rather than chasing money or prestige.

  • Ravikant stresses the importance of developing a growth mindset, being curious, and constantly learning in order to achieve personal and professional success.

  • He advocates for developing a daily meditation practice as a way to cultivate inner peace and clarity of thought

  • He emphasizes the importance of taking personal responsibility for your life and choices, rather than blaming external circumstances or other people for your situation.

  • Ravikant's philosophy is based on the idea that personal growth and self-discovery are essential to finding happiness and living a fulfilling life.

"How to Win Friends and Influence People" is a self-help book by Dale Carnegie, first published in 1936. The book is a guide to improving one's communication and social skills, with the goal of building better relationships and achieving greater success in personal and professional life.

💑It includes short stories of the author and other people about how they made mistakes in handling people and then learning from those how they gain popularity and love ♥️⠀

Some of the best qualities which I have learned from the book.

1) Give honest and sincere appreciation.

2) Become genuinely interested in another person⠀

3) Remember the names of the person.

4) The only way to get out of the argument is to avoid it

5) Talk to someone about themselves & they’ll listen to it for hours

6) Little Appreciation is required when dealing with people.
