Losing my Virginity Summary

Updated: Jul 12, 2020

Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them, and start again.⠀

It was a usual high school day and as usual, I was late for my lecture and as usual, my teacher didn't allow me to enter, which eventually brought me to my favorite place library.⠀

There I found this amazing book which gets me hooked. Because he was also thrown out of class many times as me. ⠀ ⠀

So it all started in 1950 when Richard was born with dyslexia and could not complete its education and at just 15 years old he started selling a magazine name Student which sold 50,000 plus copies.⠀

Using the profit from It in 1970 the company named Virgin was born. The name came since all business partners were Virgin. Their business focus was mainly on selling music called Virgin records which expanded greatly in 1973 by bringing British punk group Sex pistols. However, it didn't last long, and later in 1992, he sold the company to Thorn EMI for 1 billion. It was the saddest movement in the story. ⠀

After that, he used the money to start an airline service called Virgin Atlantic. Here the most interesting part comes when he had a long fight with British airways a leader in airline service who try to manipulate their customers and also try to show a negative image in media. At last, the court case happens and Richard won it and they have to compensate by paying 110 million pounds.⠀

But things in business don't stay right for long there were loan problems and relationship issues that he smartly solves with his crazy mindset and willingness to take the risk and forward-thinking nature. In his journey, he also loses his young child just after birth due to some health problems.⠀

Through his flying of the whole world in a hot air balloon to having sex with many girls to making an empire that owns 400+ companies making a total annual revenue of 26 billion the book is very engaging and will make you laugh, sad, and emotional.
